Protect Your Family from the Flu

August 29, 2012

It's Time to Protect Your Family from the Flu

It's hard to believe, but FLU season is just around the corner!  The best way to protect everyone from this serious illness is to vaccinate the entire family.  Pediatric Alliance is committed to protecting patients from vaccine-preventable diseases and offers convenient hours and locations.

This flu season, the Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine as soon as vaccine is available.

Influenza is a serious viral, respiratory illness that is very contagious.  The typical patient has nasal symptoms, fever, severe cough and body aches, and at times life threatening breathing complications.

The vaccine comes in two forms, as an injection (the typical 'flu shot') and as a nasal spray (the 'flu mist').  They are both very safe.  Ask your pediatrician which method of vaccination is suitable for each member of your family.

Our offices currently have the flu vaccine in stock and have started administering it to patients.

The flu vaccine is available now, so please contact your Pediatric Alliance office to schedule your appointment.

To help your visit go more smoothly, you can download our Influenza Consent Form  to review and sign prior to your appointment.  Bring this form with you when you come to the office.
